On January 22, 2021, the Nuclear Weapons Convention (NWC) came into effect. However, although Japan is one of the A-bombed countries, it is not included in the countries and regions of the 50 ratified countries.

   As of today, the Nuclear Weapons Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) has been signed in 191 countries and regions around the world, including Japan.
