Gaming disorder
According to eMarketer, a US market research firm, it is estimated that by 2020, 62.6% of the world's population (about 4.78 billion people) will be using smartphones. In parallel with this situation, huge global social, time, and personal losses due to Internet addiction and game addiction have become a problem in the last 10 years. In the medical field, the diagnostic criteria for "Internet game addiction" were listed in the American Psychiatric Association "DSM-5" in 2013, and the diagnostic criteria for "Gaming Disorder / game addiction" were published by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2018.
Then, in January 2022, WHO decided to put Gaming Disorder in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11).
As a result, we have reached a consensus that "game disorders are not just a social movement, but a disease."
