Climate Changes and Fires: Worst Australian NSW Fires Ever

The fire in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, was extinguished on March 1, 2021, which was the ninth day. The burnt area was 1.06 square kilometers (106 hectares). The size of the forest fires that occur in Japan in a year is about 7 to 8 square kilometers.

In turn Turning the eye to the world, the scale of the worst ever forest fires also continued to burn 240 days until March 2019 July to 2020 "Australia New South West Region fire" is not extraordinary. The final burned area is announced to be 103,000 square kilometers. Its size was comparable to that of South Korea and larger than that of Hungary and Portugal. If you replace it in Japan, it means that the area that is wider than Hokkaido is three times as large as the Kanto region.
Australia's land area is 7,692,000 square kilometers, which is about 20 times larger than Japan's land area of 377,900 square kilometers, but the fire burned down an enormous amount, accounting for about 12.6% of Australia's total land area.

   [Burned area]
Australia NSW State fire 103,000 square kilometers
   [National land area]
   South Korea 99,678 square kilometers
   Hungary 93,028 square kilometers
   Portugal 92,090 square kilometers
   [Local area]
   Hokkaido region 83,545 square kilometers
   Kanto region 32,420 square kilometers

The tremendous scale of the climate crisis cannot be addressed by businesses or governments alone. President Biden returned to the Paris Agreement withdrawal from President Trump in February 2021. He said that "climate change is a threat to the existence of humankind" and set a goal to realize "carbon neutral: decarbonization policy" to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to virtually zero by 2050.
On the other hand, the Japanese government has set the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2070.
